Full job description As a Warehouse & Shipping Specialist, you will oversee picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administrative functions in our Rancho Dominguez, California warehouse location. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for training, evaluating and rewarding staff, as well as ensuring the maintenance of company assets.
Responsibilities: - Achieve warehouse performance objectives, by establishing warehouse on-the-floor operation excellence utilizing daily management methods; defining cost savings, productivity and service level improvement opportunities, measuring performance, analyzing opportunities, improving and controlling performance, constantly providing outstanding customer service and satisfaction. Essential to improve inbound to outbound cycle time and to reduce errors.
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and outbound operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Communicate closely with internal and external warehouse customers, report to management and to group internal stakeholders.
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts including automated sorting machinery; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and initiating requisitions for replacement.
- Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. This includes cross training of all employees.
- Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees. Also, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

- Conduct Cycle counts, inventory analysis and annual full inventory counts.

- Experience in IT systems, especially WMS utilizing the latest ERP solutions. Experience with Microsoft Business Central an added plus.

- Experience with warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, RF scanners, label printers, etc.
- Facility management and maintenance, like safety, OSHA, fire, electricity, sewer etc.
KPIs - Maintain integrity and accuracy of inventories.
- On time delivery of raw material and components to production.
- On time shipment of goods to customers.
- Team member skill set development and cross training.
- Safety and security of warehouse operations.
Job Type: Full-time - Pay: $60K + per year (depending on experience)
