Closing: Position Summary
Assistant Professor - Accounting Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance Harrison College of Business and Computing Primary Responsibilities - Teach Accounting courses within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs
- Normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester and may involve traditional, blended/hybrid, and online instruction
- Advise undergraduate/graduate students
- Participate in student recruitment and retention activities
- Produce scholarly publications consistent with AACSB accreditation and institutional standards
- Provide department, college, University, and professional service in accordance with departmental tenure and promotion guidelines including participation with student organizations and networking with representatives from the accounting profession
- Support with student recruitment and retention efforts
- Comply with accreditation standards
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D., DBA or ABD (doctorate completion by August 2025) from an AACSB-accredited doctoral program either majoring in Accounting or Business Administration (with a concentration in Accounting). The candidate must have completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting.
- Professional certification in Accounting (e.g. CPA, CMA)
- Teaching and research expertise in Cost/Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, and/or Accounting Data Analytics with an interest in teaching other areas
- Demonstrated ability to deliver highly effective teaching for a variety of courses in Accounting
- Demonstrated ability to produce quality peer-reviewed research related to Accounting
- Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor students
- Evidence of effective communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal)
