Job Description

The Store Manager oversees the daily operations of the Ultimart convenience/gas station store. They are responsible for all employment and personnel processes, merchandising, inventory control, financial management and cash handling, and controlling loss prevention.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Processes cash, debit, credit and check transactions using a cash register or other point-of-sale system.
  • Maintains a clean and organized store environment and ensures that inventory is stocked and faced in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Follows all state and federal regulations for gas, alcohol, and tobacco sales.
  • Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture and values of our Company.
  • Follows Company operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety.
  • Promotes great teamwork and readily assists with team needs throughout the shift.
  • Maintains a clean and polished appearance, wearing the designated uniform.
  • Assist in the recruiting, training, and performance management of members of the Ultimart Team.
  • Motivate, encourage, and challenge store cashiers.
  • Promote and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, and all merchandise is stocked, and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and displayed in a safe manner.
  • Monitor daily retail gasoline competitors and communicate prices in a timely manner as established by management.
  • Complete daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by management.
  • Monitor cash over/short, inventory shrinkage, and ensure daily delivery of bank deposits.
  • Have the physical ability to perform all duties of a store cashier regularly.
  • Understand all information in the daily reporting and follow and enforce all Company Policies and established procedures in the store operations.
  • Enforce all Safety and Security Issues and report any and all unsafe conditions.
  • Report and process all employee and/ or customer incidents or accidents following company procedure.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and clean driving record preferred

Availability Requirements:

  • Must have flexible availability for scheduling
  • Must be available for both opening and closing shifts
  • Must be able to work beyond scheduled hours as business requires
