About the Role

Are you a licensed mental health professional with a passion for leadership, housing stability, and recovery-focused care? Join our innovative Front Door Diversion Program , which diverts individuals from psychiatric hospitalization into temporary housing, while our team helps them apply for benefits, access mental health services, and transition into permanent, subsidized housing.

As Assistant Director, your leadership will help clients with serious mental illness (SMI), co-occurring substance use, trauma, and medical complexities step out of crisis and into stability. You'll guide a passionate team and ensure that every service delivered—from crisis support to housing placement—moves clients closer to lasting mental health recovery and independence. You'll drive program outcomes, support your team, and ensure clinical excellence every step of the way.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with Purpose: Supervise and inspire a team of staff and interns providing life-changing services like housing linkage, recovery-focused therapy, and intensive case management.
  • Drive Measurable Outcomes: Monitor program performance, track recovery and housing milestones, and use data to continuously improve results for our clients.
  • Champion Quality Care: Oversee clinical documentation, ensure compliance with Medicaid standards, and serve as LPHA to approve treatment plans, assessments, and notes.
  • Develop People, Not Just Programs: Provide weekly supervision, mentorship, and training that helps staff grow clinically and professionally—while also building a high-performing team culture.
  • Fuel Innovation: Collaborate with hospital providers to expand the program's reach, strengthen partnerships, and develop outreach efforts that bring more clients through the “front door.”
  • Respond When It Matters Most: Support staff in responding to crises, conducting risk assessments, and creating safety plans that keep clients stable and engaged.
  • Own the Process, Improve the System: Lead continuous quality improvement efforts that elevate service delivery across housing, mental health, and recovery domains.
  • Be a Voice at the Table: Interface with state funders, shape policies, and help tell the story of your team's impact through quarterly reports and strategic conversations.
